Church Connection Council

A vital partner in our ministry--and another example of how Christ is at the center of all we do--is our Church Connection Council.

Background

From the very conception of Sheltering Wings, many churches expressed their desire to minister the love of Christ to victims of domestic abuse by personally volunteering their time, energy and talents to the Center. The importance of establishing a network of support and involvement from the churches in our community was evident and CCC was formed as a way to channel and coordinate that support and input from local churches that wanted to play a vital role in the mission of Sheltering Wings.

Role

The CCC links Sheltering Wings to the churches of Hendricks County and the surrounding area. Each church appoints members who serve as liaisons between their church and the shelter. They keep their members informed about the ways in which God has worked through Sheltering Wings to change lives of abused women and their children. They also share information about the center's current needs, volunteer opportunities, prayer requests and coordinate help and support from church members.

The CCC is a vital link to increasing awareness of domestic abuse in the community.

Membership

We ask each church to choose a member and an alternate for a one-year term. The representative should have a passion for the mission, be reliable, and be able to attend the monthly meetings. If your church isn't already participating in CCC and you'd like to become involved, talk to your pastor or lead clergy, get approval and contact us at (317) 718-0735 x301. CCC meets the first Tuesday of every month at 7pm at the Hendricks County Senior Center.
